Just throwing this out there. https://thegenealogyofstyle.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/birth-of-venus/
Various versions of The Birth of Venus.

My favourite:                                                                Reminds me of:

Amaury Duval Jr., 1862                                                Rineke Dijkstra, 1992

Recently paintings have been the biggest inspiration for creating own work. As of yet plans have not taken form and shape, neither has any photographs.
These dream-like works of art by Norwegian painter Theodor Kittelsen awakens adventurous and curious feelings which I wish to adopt to my own projects.
The colours and the atmosphere are spectacular and perhaps with use of artificial lighting (preferably on a foggy day) my own photography work can achieve a fraction of it.

went abroad to visit someone this summer

I have decided to make this blog my personal diary. It will perhaps be slightly random sometimes, but that is how my mind works anyway. And it will be very visual, because that is how I communicate.

re-discovering

One of the best things about photographs is discovering and viewing them more than once, and most often finding things you didn't before. These are from last years summer when we had some beautiful days on an island, south of mine. I am re-discovering memories, and re-gaining the love for black\white film.

This summer will be slightly inspired by some of these photographs, I've got something in mind that will largely involve water. This is one of those times when I have an image in my head, I know exactly how I want it, but it never works in reality, does it. Perhaps that's for the best.

trees of London

Taken a short while back with a simple disposable camera from Boots. I developed the film myself (cranked open the body, it was surprising to find out that the film is actually safe in a canister inside of it). It's almost therapeutic looking up at the sky when walking in big cities like London.
